Why Nepal?

Nepal is best known for being home to the world's tallest mountains. Yet among the hills below the Himalayas grows a wide variety of truly exceptional coffeeNepali farmers grown their coffee at elevations between roughly 800 and 1,600 metres where it is allowed to ripen slowly in the cool air. Monsoon rain provides a powerful water supply whilst the steep, well drained slopes keep the roots from sitting wet.The unique climate of Nepal's Himalayan foothills allow the coffee a longer period of maturation. Sugars and acidity build up in the beans, resulting in rich coffee with sweet and delicate notes.

What we offer

We are a UK based company with a dedicated team in Nepal. We source the very best of Nepali coffee, working with trusted and reputable producers. Our coffee goes through a rigorous quality testing and certification process before being delivered to your doorstep. We source only premium 100% Arabica beans, primarily Bourbon and Typica. These traditional varieties, combined with Nepal’s distinctive geography and climate, provide the foundation for coffees with clarity, sweetness and lively acidity. Nepali coffee represents huge untapped potential, yet is very highly regarded by the specialty coffee community. The Eastern region in particular has gained a reputation for producing coffee of exceptional and outstanding quality. Nepali coffee from this region has repeatedly scored above 85 on the 50-100 SCA scale, as reported by trade magazines. To give an example, in 2020, Nepali Coffee scored 92 in a blind assessment review by Press House Coffee (Californian Trade Magazine), highlighting it as "delicate, balanced and sweet-toned".Our mission is twofold. We want to bring you the best of Nepali coffee and share with the world this truly exceptional product. We also assist the farmers, ensuring they are paid a truly fair share of profits, and are able to improve and develop their infrastructure. All coffee that we import goes through very rigorous testing procedures, both at source in Nepal and here in the UK where we have a dedicated lab to assess each sample before it is passed on to the roaster.
